"A project is an undertaking in which a defined goal is to be achieved within a defined period of time and which is characterized by the fact that it is essentially a one-off undertaking.

As a rule, a project - in contrast to regular, always similarly carried out, largely identical projects - usually carries a higher risk of failure and is carried out in a special and temporary organizational form, the so-called project organization, within which work is carried out towards the goal.
